The IDHMC is pleased to announce its 2014-15 HASTAC fellows: Laura Perrings (ENGL) and Nigel Lepianka (ENGL).
Laura Perrings is a PhD candidate in English specializing in Victorian literature and digital humanities. Her digital project, The Victorian Female Detective Archive, involves the development of custom TEI tags to mark aspects of the supernatural. Laura’s work on the archive ties in with her dissertation in progress, which also examines the role of supernatural phenomena in Victorian detective fiction.
Nigel Lepianka is also a PhD candidate in English. Nigel is currently a research assistant for the NovelTM–Text Mining the Novel project (http://novel-tm.ca/), a large-scale, SSHRC-funded project let by Andrew Piper at McGill University. Nigel’s contributions to HASTAC will be shaped by his work with big data and visualization, and by his background in digital preservation.

Congratulations to Laura and Nigel!
