The Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI; main website: http://dhsi.org/) will be held this year on June 6-11 and 13-17, 2016 at the University of Victoria, offering different courses during each week-long session.

The Initiative for Digital Humanities, Media, and Culture (IDHMC) is offering free tuition for up to five Texas A&M University (TAMU) applicants, with preference given to early career scholars (including graduate students) and proposals that clearly demonstrate the role that the DHSI course will play in their research.  The IDHMC scholarship covers tuition for one class per applicant.  DH Graduate Certificate students are encouraged to incorporate DHSI training into independent studies with TAMU faculty.

To apply for this opportunity, please write a 250-500 word statement including:

1.       Which course you wish to take at DHSI.  (Course and registration information can be found at http://dhsi.org/courses.php.   Since there are two week long sessions, please look at the course offerings carefully to be sure you can travel during the week your course is offered.)

2.       How this course will benefit your scholarship or digital project(s).

Send all statements, including name, department, and contact information, to the idhmc@tamu.edu email address with DHSI as the subject.

All applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015

Note, DHSI also offers a limited number of tuition scholarships, but you must apply directly to DHSI.  Also, for those TAMU applicants who don’t receive an IDHMC scholarship to DHSI, reduced registration fees are available using TAMU discount codes TAMU-Student or TAMU-Non-Student.
